Workplace Giving

Your way to make the difference

Workplace Giving is a central ingredient in United Way's success. It is the single largest component of United Way's annual fundraising campaign. An individual's regular contribution through payroll is a simple and effective way to provide ongoing funds for vital services in the community.

Workplace Giving - the easy way to help

In excess of 220 local companies facilitate Workplace Giving to United Way from their employees and in those workplaces, several thousand people give that 'little bit out of their pay' to support those in need in our community.

If you are an employee of one of these companies, but not yet a Workplace Contributor, why not join your work colleagues? Help raise funds for vital services in the Geelong community which may, one day, help you personally or someone very close to you.

If you are a business leader and your business is not on this list, why not consider introducing Workplace Giving to help the community in which you do business?

Remember:

  • Your donation is allocated to worthy organisations providing vital services
  • All donations stay here in Geelong to help Geelong people
  • United Way is a non-religious, non-political, autonomous organisation
  • Your donation is tax-deductible

Give Where You Live

Give Where you Live and in 2010 you could win a $1500 Shopping
Spree at E & S Trading! - just like Lachlan Errey has done in 2009

The letters 'E & S' can stand for many things. For United Way Geelong Region contributors, it could be 'Empathy & Support' for their community. But for one lucky contributor E & S now means 'Excitement & Surprise'.

Teenager, Lachlan Errey, decided to commence a Workplace Giving contribution to United Way when he started his employment at Fagg's Mitre 10 back in April. As with all new contributors in 2009, Lachlan was eligible to go in the draw for a $1500 store voucher, generously donated by local whitegoods retailer, E & S Trading.

Lachlan is the lucky winner of the 2009 voucher, and is still unsure of what to do with his win.

"I'm only 19, but I'm pretty aware of some of the needs in this community- particularly in the area of youth," he said. "I decided United Way was the best way to help and Workplace Giving makes it very easy to give ongoing support."

Fagg's Mitre 10 is one of 220 local businesses which facilitate a Workplace Giving program.  Within these businesses, thousands of employees generously give a tax deductible contribution from their pay packet to United Way.  For more information about Workplace Giving please contact Leigh Johnston at United Way Geelong on 5229 4364.

Everyone, who signs up to make a regular donation to United Way or
increases a current regular donation during campaign 2009, will go in
the draw to win a $1,500 shopping spree at E & S Trading.
