How We help

United Way is different to other types of non-profit organisations as we are not a one-issue organisation. We allocate funding to over 70 community service organisations in the Geelong region. Community service organisations who have been approved to receive funding from United Way Geelong Region are called ‘Community Partners’.

Below are just some of the services our Community Partners provide to people in need in the Geelong region.

• Emergency accommodation for homeless people.

• Food for people who cannot afford to pay their grocery bill.

• Emergency accommodation for people who have experienced domestic violence.

• Personal and telephone counselling for personal issues, depression and grief.

• Support for young people who live in the northern suburbs of Geelong.

• Support for children with autism and their parents.

• Programs involving dogs and horses to help the aged and people with disabilities.

• Support for migrants.

• Drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

• Theatre for people with disabilities.
