United Way is a volunteer led non-profit, non-denominational organisation that leads, supports and participates in collective, inclusive community efforts that build capacity and mobilise resources to improve lives and create positive, long term social change in local communities.

United Way Australia Limited's vision is to strengthen the social fabric of Australian communities by developing and supporting a network of affiliated United Way organisations across Australia and to be a major player in Australian philanthropy, taking a leadership role in corporate community involvement programs on a national basis.
