How We Help

United Way Geelong Region seeks to support health and human care organisations that demonstrate a need for financial support. These are our Community Partners (they were previously titled “Beneficiaries”) and in partnership, provide services for the community.

United Way seeks to inform and educate the community of the functions and activities of our organisation and also of the services offered by our Community Partners. We strive to monitor the continuing needs for health and human care services in the community and provide assistance in seeking solutions for needs within our community.

United Way Geelong Region is devoted to making sure that donations go to members of the community who need it the most. We do this by ensuring that:

  • Qualified and experienced volunteers assess all projects and allocations
  • On an annual basis United Way evaluates submissions to support projects in the local community
  • The selection process involves an independent committee of volunteers reviewing each submission and visiting human care agencies

In 2009 we distributed more than $2.5 million to local health and human care organisations. CLICK HERE for a full list of these organisations.
