Food, Material Aid, Pharmaceutical Voucher Program

Thanks to the Percy Baxter Trust, United Way has been able to continue providing local welfare and charitable organisations with a cost effective, equitable and accountable voucher system for food, material aid, and pharmacy needs, providing disadvantaged people with an opportunity to shop for food or material items in a dignified manner.

United Way issues the vouchers based on proof of need at no cost to the receiving agencies - already over-committed local welfare and health organisations. In turn the agencies then provide vouchers to those in need based in their circumstances.

The Geelong Food Relief Centre and Geelong Material Aid Centre, both previously set up in partnership with United Way, facilitate the food and material aid vouchers. Bull & Owen Pharmacy facilitate the pharmacy vouchers.

Vouchers are issued to approved agencies in January each calendar year.  Application forms are sent to agencies in October.
